Hospice launches volunteer mentoring service for young people

image

This exciting new pilot has been a long time in the planning and the hospice is delighted to introduce our Volunteer Mentors.

The Mentor Service will be part of the Family Support Service and will complement the support already provided for children, young people and their families.   Mentors will support young people from ages 12 – 21 years old both pre and post bereavement for up to a year

Family support staff welcomed the mentors and all recognised the importance of being part of a cohesive team that has the shared goal of empowering young people by helping to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
