Queen of British Soul, Beverley Knight performed at an exclusive London Mayfair venue to a packed audience at a fundraising event for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow.
Beverley Knight topped the bill at the exclusive event in Quaglino’s on Wednesday 22 November, supported by phenomenal soprano Carly Paoli and hosted by TV presenter Carol Smillie with guests including Alex McLeish and Dames Kelly Holmes and Denise Lewis.
The event was sponsored by The Watches of Switzerland Group and The Watches of Switzerland Charity Foundation. Chief Executive Brian Duffy has been a long-term supporter of the hospice. “The hospice is very close to my heart. The care they provide is absolutely vital and I have seen first-hand the difference they make to people’s lives.”
The hospice is currently marking its 40th anniversary of providing vital compassionate palliative care to the people of Glasgow. As the hospice looks to innovate in the future, it plans to establish a new market garden within the grounds of the hospice in Bellahouston Park. The vision for the new garden project will see patients, families, volunteers and the local community come together to experience the outdoors, fully supported by staff, while taking part in therapeutic activities involving gardening.
As part of the fundraising on the night, guests took part in a spectacular live auction which included items such as a stunning 18ct yellow gold Fope bracelet, a Rolex GMT-master II watch, a much-sought after “Kung Fu panda” by David Yarrow (edition 5/12) and an ultimate All Blacks experience for two people to name just a few.
The London committee, first established in 2015, have been responsible for raising more than £1million for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice. Rhona Baillie, Chief Executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, said: “What an incredible night, we are so very grateful to our friends in London for coming out and supporting Glasgow’s Hospice.
“Our dedicated staff and volunteers have been providing vital end of life care to people with life-limiting conditions for 40 years, and we are only able to do this because of the generosity and unwavering commitment from our supporters. We are proud to provide this vital service with care and compassion for all.”

Glasgow’s Hospice provides free specialist care to 1,200 new patients with terminal and life-limiting conditions and their families each year both at the hospice at Bellahouston Park and in patient’s own homes.
