Physiotherapy

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice physiotherapist works as part of the rehabilitation team.

All physiotherapy programmes are tailored to each patient’s individual needs, and the team works closely with patients to help them to maintain their independence and to perform day-to-day activities.

We help patients become more active in their daily lives and can advise on falls prevention. We work on managing fatigue, and can demonstrate improved breathing techniques that can help promote relaxation.

The physiotherapist can advise on suitable mobility aids and specific mobility techniques based on your current condition, and can help with the mobility of joints and muscles, by devising a personal exercise program taking into account all your medical history and can also assist with pain relief, using positioning and exercises, or acupuncture.

Physiotherapy treatment is usually carried out in the hospice, but occasionally patients may be offered treatment at home if you are unable to come to the hospice.
