Palliative care support

What is palliative care?

Palliative care support is given for physical and emotional problems related to a life-limiting or life-shortening illness for patients and those close to them.

Who offers palliative care?

The Prince & Princess of Wales clinical and support staff work together to care for our patients, their carers and families.

The palliative care team includes, doctors, consultants, specialist palliative care nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, chaplains, social workers, counsellors, and Glasgow Hospice volunteers.

Where do I get palliative care treatment?

You can receive palliative care in your home or other place of residence, in hospital, at the hospice as a day patient, an outpatient or as an inpatient.

Where you are treated will depend on your wishes and the progression of your illness.

We will always work in partnership with patients and their families to provide care based on what matters to you.

If you would like to know more about palliative care please contact The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
