Befriending Service Coordinator (3 year fixed contract)

Hours: 15 hrs per week
Contract: £23,814 to £25,891 (pro rata)
Salary: £19,357 per annum + 17.4 % shift allowance

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a well-established charity located at 20 Dumbreck Road, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow G41 5BW. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life-limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.

We are committed to enhancing the well-being of patients living with a life limiting condition and their families within our Hospice community. We take pride in delivering high-quality care and innovative programs that make a make positive impact on the lives of people. We are currently looking for motivated and dedicated individuals to join the hospice team as Befriending Coordinators who will play a vital role in fostering connections, companionship and personalised care for patients and their family.

As a Befriending Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our mission to combat loneliness and improve the quality of life for our patients and their families. As part of our wider Outreach Service, you will oversee the Befriending Service, matching volunteers with patients in need of companionship, support, and personalised care. This role is essential in creating meaningful connections and enhancing the quality of life for patients and carers enabling them, where possible to stay at home. You will supervise volunteers; promote the service; and help deliver training. Strong interpersonal skills are key as well as an ability to organise your workload effectively is essential.

The successful candidate must have experience working with people with life limiting illnesses and have a driving licence and access to a car.
