We always want to hear from everybody who is considering volunteering for the Hospice, whatever type of role you might be interested in. The areas listed below are where we have the most immediate requirement for volunteers.

Volunteer Charity Shop Assistants

We need volunteers with excellent customer service skills to provide a friendly service in our charity shops. Other activities will include sorting through incoming donations and assisting to price and display donations for the public. Ideally you will be available 3 hours per week/fortnight and be able to work well with other volunteers and staff members.
*** We currently have a particular need for Saturday volunteers ***
Marketing / PR Volunteers
We are looking for volunteer who has excellent written communication skills, is proficient with Microsoft software (Word, Powerpoint etc.) and some knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and web content management systems is desirable.
The role would be suited to someone who has experience in, or has studied, Marketing, Digital Media, PR or a similar subject. As well as experience of writing press releases, use of CRMs like Raiser's Edge and social media would also be advantageous.
This role would either be for one volunteer over 5 days or for two volunteers doing 2/3 days and some evening and weekend work might also be included.
Please note this is an unpaid role but should provide successful candidates with a range of skills and experience and would be an ideal position for someone wanting to gain experience in marketing for the non-profit sector.

Meet and Greet Volunteers
The Hospice is looking for volunteers to support our friendly, welcoming and helpful environment. As a Meet and Greet Volunteer you will offer directional advice and practical assistance as required by patients and visitors in collaboration with other 'front of house' staff and volunteers.
This role would also incorporate basic administration duties and you would be part of a team of Meet & Greet Volunteers.

Hairdresser
We are looking for qualified hairdressers who can give 3 hours per week to provide a much needed service. Can you see yourself in our salon? Can you "Make a Difference" to patients who have a terminal illness?
