Become a Volunteer
Register your interest
To register your interest in volunteering with us, please call Sandra Anderson, Volunteer Services Co-Ordinator, on 0141 429 5599 or email volunteering@ppwh.org.uk. Please note note that to volunteer for the Hospice you must be eighteen or over.
Recruitment Events
Once you have registered your interest, we'll ask you to attend one of our volunteer recruitment events which take place every month. At these events, you'll find out more about the Hospice and the various roles that are available. We'll also ask you to complete an application form at this stage.
Selection
Once we have your application, we will invite you in to see the Hospice and discuss the different options available to you. The Hospice will carry out reference checks for all volunteers and if your role is based in the Hospice we will also carry out criminal record and occupational health checks.
Getting Started
After you have been placed you will be asked to attend an induction day that gives you the background to the Hospice and our philosophy. Combined with this you will be asked to come along to a mandatory training session which gives important information about your health & safety and fire procedures. You will also receive one to one training into the aspects of the individual role you will be volunteering in.
