Maisie Hamilton - Community Fundraiser
Maisie joined the Hospice team in November 2006 and works with schools, groups and individuals in the local community to ensure that they are well supported in their fundraising activities. She also organises annual challenges like our Midnight Walk, It's A Knockout, and the Fives Charity Cup.
"My job is a really varied one, with no two days ever being the same. It's the variety and the opportunity to meet lots of new people that I really enjoy. The fundraising team is a busy one and we support each other wherever we can, so being flexible is really important.
"For example, one day I could be visiting a local secondary school to talk to them about what we do here at the Hospice and helping them to organise a fashion show, or encourage some pupils to take part in one of our challenges. The next day I might be putting on my black evening dress and working at one of our formal events.
"The amount of time, thought and energy that people put into supporting the Hospice is incredible and really helps inspire me to work even harder!
"Being based in the Hospice on Carlton Place is also really helpful as we're able to see firsthand the difference that Hospice care makes to our patients and families. It makes me feel privileged that I'm able to contribute to the work we do here."
