Schools & Colleges
Schools help the Hospice in many ways, teaching pupils social responsibility at a young age and (we hope) recruiting the volunteers of tomorrow.
Simple events such as bring & buy sales and our Christmas Bows Campaign are popular. Schoolchildren also sing carols to raise funds at St Enoch's Centre at Christmas time and come into the Hospice to entertain our patients. Senior school groups also support Hospice events.
Our Go Yellow Walk is an annual city-wide event for Primary 7 pupils - they raised about £15,000 last year in a sponsored 5k walk and had a fun day too.
Older children may consider volunteering, getting work experience in our offices or shops. Our events team also help teach skills in organising and promoting an event - for example, staging a fashion show with clothes from our shops.
College students don't have much money to spare, but we do get good support, including valuable time from volunteers who help out in the Hospice. Students love our daredevil events such as the zipline and parachute jumps and also help organise pub quizzes and other fundraisers.
