A small amount can make a big difference!
If you work, Give As You Earn (GAYE) is a simple, effective way for employees to make a donation to the Hospice through your employer's payroll system.
How it works
Initiated via your work's payroll system, GAYE allows a donation to be taken from your salary before tax. In practice this means the donation is boosted by at least 25%. And, so, if you choose to give £2 a month, the Hospice will receive £2.50. You can chose how much to give from your salary each payday.
Benefits of GAYE
- It's convenient
A deduction from your pay only takes a few minutes. It's a hassle free and cost effective way of giving.
- It's affordable
A small contribution each pay means it is possible to make a difference to our Hospice, and still cover all your other regular expenses and financial commitments.
- It's tax deductible
- It's flexible
If you wish to stop donating or change the amount, your payroll deductions can be adjusted at any time.
- Matched Funding
Quite often employees offer to match their employee's donations. If they don't do so already - it's worth asking!
- Best for the cause you care about
Once established, GAYE provides the Hospice and participating organisations with a low cost, low maintenance way to support those that rely on our services.
- Does my employer offer this scheme?
Ask your employer's payroll department if they offer GAYE. If they don't, suggest that they start one - it is easy and inexpensive to run. Please let us know if you require help on starting a GAYE scheme.
