Day Care Centre

People generally cope well at home, but at times need support for specific needs or issues.  When you are asked to visit our Day Care Centre in Carlton Place, we will carry out a thorough assessment to identify those needs and work with you to create a plan of care that is achievable and meaningful.

Among the services and activities you might find beneficial:

  • Complementary therapies, delivered by our team of volunteers within a calm, peaceful space, can help with relaxation and anxiety management
  • The art project, designed to encourage and facilitate expression, provides a focus of activity.
  • Creative writing is very useful if you "know what you want to say, but do not know how to say it" - a great opportunity to express yourself!
  • Social interaction is obviously good if you live alone, but you may also enjoy an outing to the Day Centre if you feel you've become isolated from day-to-day activities by your illnesses
  • Special appointments can be made to see our physiotherapist, chaplain, medical team or social work team.

These services can help address a variety of needs ranging from the need for peer support to the need to be in a more peaceful, relaxed environment. You can make your own way to the Hospice or we will collect you and take you home.

Time off for carers
We encourage you to use this valuable time to attend to your own business or just put your feet up!
