Who we help
Typically, a patient will be referred to us with a diagnosis of cancer which is no longer responding to active treatment although occasionally, it will be a non-malignant but progressive and incurable illness. That said, there is no such thing as a 'typical' patient - you are the same individual you were before you got ill. It's just that life has taken on a new dimension.
People can be fearful when they are referred to Hospice. You may feel, then, that there's nothing more your doctor can do and you're being sent away to die. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Cancer can cause turmoil and distress to the person who is ill and also to those who care for you. We will work tirelessly to support you and your carers, family and friends throughout this time, helping you maximise life to your full potential.
