About the Hospice
The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice brings comfort and peace of mind to patients for whom cure is no longer possible.
We take a holistic approach, recognising our patients' emotional, social and spiritual needs as well as practising advanced pain and symptom control. We treat the person, not the disease - and also offer practical and emotional support to families and carers in this most difficult of times.
A 30-second history: The Hospice began life as the New Glasgow Hospice Trust in the early 1980s. We acquired our Royal name on becoming a wedding gift to The Prince & Princess of Wales. By 1983 we had a home - albeit without a roof over our heads - in a derelict terrace in Carlton Place. From that foothold, we have built a centre of excellence in the heart of Glasgow, a community which suffers far more than its share of deaths from cancer.
