Staff
The Hospice operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and employs around 110 full-and part-time staff. This includes doctors, registered nurses, nursing auxiliaries, a physiotherapist, occupational therapist and a chaplain as well as social workers, all directly involved in the care of patients and their families.
Behind the scenes, administrative and support staff keep the Hospice running smoothly, whether they are working in management, fundraising and finance or in domestic and portering roles.
It is the nature of working for the Hospice the commitment of our staff is such that they put much more into the organisation than they could ever take home in a pay packet.
Volunteers In addition, approximately 600 people help out on a voluntary basis. Volunteers work in many different areas within the Hospice and also in fundraising and in our shops.
Volunteers are not here to take over staff roles, but rather to complement what staff do. We simply could not provide many of our services without this vital ingredient in our holistic approach to care.
