The Prince & Princess of Wales

Our Royal association dates back to the spring of 1981 when the nation was gripped with "Charles & Di" mania on the eve of their marriage. Glasgow's Lord Provost at  the time came up with the novel idea of dedicating the new hospice to the Royal couple as a wedding gift, the Palace accepted and we thus became The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.

Diana, Princess of Wales, supported us by personal appearances and private donations and HRH The Prince of Wales remains our active Patron. However, despite our illustrious-sounding name, we are a charity and not a wealthy one. It is the generosity of everyday people donating to the Hospice that enables us to continue to care.
