Governance policies and standards
Ensuring quality of care The Hospice is committed to the highest quality standards as demonstrated by rigorous internal systems for clinical governance and external assessment by independent bodies.
Clinical Governance is about making sure internal systems are in place to monitor the quality of care we give and support our staff as we strive for continuous improvement. The framework includes staff governance, provision for reflective practice, research, audit, education/training, staff development and patient/user involvement.
A recognised centre of excellence The Hospice has been assessed by three independent bodies and received excellent reports, commending all aspects of our provision:
- recognised as a specialist palliative care provider by NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (formerly the Clinical Standards Board for Scotland)
- licensed to provide care services by the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care
- granted Investors in People status for our Hospice voluntary services.
