Midnight Walk - Fundraising
Sponsorship We have not set a minimum sponsorship amount that you need to raise but we do ask that you raise as much as you can for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice! The sponsorship money that you raise by taking part in our Midnight Walk challenge will enable us to help terminally-ill patients face their own personal challenges and make the most of the time they have remaining. The success of this Hospice fundraising event is down to you and your fundraising efforts. Every penny you raise helps! Please hand in your sponsorship monies to the Hospice within 6 weeks following the event, by Monday 28th June 2010.
Sponsor Forms Please find sponsor forms enclosed with this pack, if you require more please contact the Fundraising Team at the Hospice on 0141 429 9876
Online sponsor forms The easiest and best way of raising money is to set up an online sponsor form account. Write an email including the link to your sponsor form and promote it to all your friends, family and colleagues. It's a great way to reach people you don't see often

Social networking sites Facebook and twitter are a great way to spread the word about your challenge in support of the Hospice. If you have an online fundraising page you can promote it on your facebook page. Keep your status updated as to how you are doing to promote the link to your online fundraising page. We'd love to be your friend on Facebook, just search for 'Glasgow's Hospice'.
Company/Club support You could ask your employer or club to include a bit about your challenge and details of how to sponsor you on their intranet or newsletter.
Company matched funding Approach your employer to match your fundraising as many companies do this now. Some companies will match up to 100% of what you raise. You can ask your Personnel or HR department for information on your company's match funding schemes. If you need us to provide a letter or form to enable this, just call the fundraising office.
Events If you have exhausted your contacts for sponsorship, how about some of the following to raise money: Charging for services e.g. ironing, Cheese & Wine evening, Competitions, Coffee morning, Car boot sale, Dress down day at work, Slave for the day
Support Network Think about who could support you: family, friends, work, local clubs (gym, pub etc), neighbours & community, local businesses…and all of their friends, family, clients, suppliers etc Perhaps they could take round sponsor forms for you. Sharing the load can make things so much easier.
Attract attention Create and print a poster about your challenge and put it up in the office kitchen, lift, beside the water cooler, or at your local supermarket, gym, post office, school or anywhere else you can get permission. Let local press and radio know who you are, what you are doing and why. Remember to include details of how people can sponsor you. Feel free to fill in the enclosed Press & Media information and return it to the Hospice.
Once you have collected in all your hard earned sponsorship, please send it in (with your sponsor forms if possible) to the Hospice: The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, 71 Carlton Place, Glasgow G5 9TD with cheques made payable to The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, stating in the correspondence that you took part in the Midnight Walk. Alternatively, you are most welcome to come into the Hospice at anytime to bring in your sponsorship money.
Thank You for your support!
