Taylor Ferguson Highlights Need for Volunteers
01 Jun 2011

Top celebrity hairdresser Taylor Ferguson took time out from his busy city centre salon to spend time with volunteers and patients at to draw attention to the importance of volunteer hairdressers to the Glasgow charity.
Multi-award winning Taylor, who recently celebrated 50 years in the profession, was visiting the Hospice as part of a series of activities planned for National Volunteers Week, which runs from 1st - 7th June.
He said: "I've witnessed the incredible difference that hairdressing can make to a person's wellbeing and confidence on countless occasions so can easily see the huge amount of value that volunteers can make to Hospice patients. If you are a qualified hairdresser and think you might be able to help, I would definitely encourage you to find out more."
We are really keen to hear from any hairdressers out there who could spare just a little of their time. It does not have to be much, literally be just a couple of hours a fortnight would make a huge difference to our patients.
Having any kind of illness can affect a person's whole body image especially if it is invasive treatments that can change their appearance. It means so much to patients to be able to look their best and we simply can't deliver the hairdressing service without the support of our volunteer team.
Can you help? Or would you like to find out more? Please contact Sandra Anderson on 0141 429 5599 or email volunteering@ppwh.org.uk - we'd love to hear from you.
