Fives Charity Cup 2011

28 Oct 2011

Footballers

A record 27 teams showed off their football skills at our annual Fives Charity Cup and managed to raise an astounding £6,790 in the process!

The tournament was held at Soccerworld, the most advanced indoor 5-a-side facility in Scotland.

After making it through the group stages and the play-offs, team Jimmy Mac (named after our porter Jim, who encouraged them to enter) and Third Lanark, who were playing in memory of the mother of two players, went head to head in a fantastic final.

The winning team

In a fitting tribute the Third Lanark team won 2-1 to lift the trophy, with Mark Robertson earning man of the match for his efforts.

Having worked up an appetite, everyone then headed the sports bar to enjoy a well-deserved pie and a pint!

Our grateful thanks go to all the teams, our sponsors Park Lane, Soccerworld, Bounce Football and everyone who supported the event. You all helped to make it a great success!

More pictures from the event can be seen on the Hospice's Facebook page.
