Blythswood Square Helps the Hospice
20 Dec 2011

The five-star Blythswood Square hotel in Glasgow City Centre has very kindly been hosting a number of different events for the Hospice and we'd like to thank them for their support.
On Tuesday 6 December a gathering of ladies joined us to enjoy a special brand of TLC: Tea, Luxury and Cocktails. The day began with the hotel's now famous Afternoon tea, followed by cocktails and some gentle retail therapy. The finishing touch for our guests was to pamper themselves with a selection of the spa treatments on offer. Everyone has a fantastic time and raised over £500 for the Hospice.
More recently, the hotel invited our Bereavement Groups to use the private screening room, the first of its kind in Glasgow, to watch a film of their choice.
The children's group were treated to popcorn and juice, and sat back to watch Will Ferrell star in the hilarious Christmas comedy, 'Elf'. Even the parents were singing along to the festive songs and cheering at the end so it was clear that everyone had a thoroughly good evening.

This morning, the adult drop-in group enjoyed some delicious mince pies then took advantage of the comfort provided by the luxury cinema to see the 1946 classic, 'It's a Wonderful Life'. By the end of the film there wasn't a dry eye in the house!
Fiona Strauss, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Town House Collection, said:
"The Hospice does such tremendous work for the people of Glasgow that we're more than happy to help in any way that we can."
We're incredibly grateful to Fiona and the Blythswood Square team for supporting our work in this way and would like to say a big thank you to all involved.
