Art and Creative Writing Workshops
Art workshops take place in a dedicated art room. The sessions include drawing, painting, printmaking, digital imaging and photography, sculpture, textiles, bookbinding and papermaking.
Rather than structured group tuition, art workshops are tailored to suit individual needs and interests and unlike art therapy, it is never the intention to use the process of artwork as a way to explore issues. Instead, workshops focus on the creative process and participants are supported to find their own style and work at their own pace. This often leads to a more absorbing and rewarding experience.
Private, individual creative writing sessions allow patients the opportunity to explore autobiographical work, fictional writing or poetry. Others find comfort in knowing that someone can help them write a significant letter to a loved one.
